INOYO TORO FOUNDATION ANNUAL AWARDS FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE

Mr. Udom Inoyo, the former Vice Chairman of ExxonMobil Companies in Nigeria is among dignitaries from all walks of life that is attending the 2021 Inoyo Toro Foundation’s Annual for Teaching Excellence in Akwa Ibom state Public Secondary Schools holding at the Ibom e-library, IBB Avenue, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The event is an annual awards ceremony organized by the Inoyo Toro foundation to celebrate teachers in Akwa Ibom state public schools that have excelled in their teaching careers.

In today’s event, the foundation will be celebrating and rewarding a total of 21 teachers that came 1st to 3rd with N250,000 cash prizes for winners in various categories of subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Economics, including an N500,000 Grand Mentor Prizes for each subject as well as the N500,000 Administration Excellence Prize to a secondary school principal.

The event has Mr. Tony Okpanachi, who is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Development Bank of Nigeria PLC as the Special Guest of Honour, and Dr. Emmanuel Abraham, the Proprietor of Topfaith Schools and University, as the Guest Speaker.

The 21 teachers and one principal to be rewarded today were selected from over 200 public secondary schools teachers in Akwa Ibom State who participated in the nomination exercise.

It is imperative to note that this year’s awards seek to promote quality education through recognition and rewards for secondary school teachers, mentorship for students in Akwa Ibom State public secondary schools in the 14th edition since the inception of the annual ceremony in 2007.

Altogether, since 2007, the Foundation has celebrated and rewarded over 235 teachers and 3 principals, trained over 3,500 teachers, mentored over 5,040 students, and has recorded a positive impact in over 90 schools in Akwa Ibom State.
