I want to be very frank about what happened at the City Boys event in Imo State. I always speak the truth, regardless of allegiances or political alignments. We all know I fully support the government of Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu.
I am not a partisan person, but I deeply believe in good policies, good governance, and effective leadership. These are qualities that President Bola Ahmed Bola Tinubu has consistently demonstrated throughout his career, including his tenure as Governor of Lagos State, where I have followed him as my mentor.
Now, regarding Imo State, what happened yesterday at the City Boys event was deeply disappointing. Governor Hope Uzodinma showed glaring failures in his role as Chief Security Officer of the state. Security, which should be a top priority, was clearly inadequate. This is not speculation; it is what we witnessed firsthand.
Often, people in leadership positions try to lobby and curry favor with Mr. President through sycophancy, seeking access and benefits. But the events in Imo State yesterday are evidence that much work still needs to be done.
To the City Boys, you went to Imo State believing every word spoken by Hope Uzodinma. Let me tell you, the reality on the ground is very different. Being a village girl gives me native intelligence, and I understand the advantage of those who are grounded, informed, and know every nook and cranny of their territory. Village boys and girls have this advantage naturally. Security in Imo State has once again proven inadequate. Governor Hope Uzodinma has failed in this fundamental responsibility.
City Boys, this is not the end of the road. Take this as a learning moment. Go back, brainstorm, re-strategize, and correct the mistakes. This is not 100 percent failure for you; you can rise stronger.
To Hope Uzodinma, your words have once again been exposed as inconsistent with reality. Security needs urgent attention. You have work to do.
What failed in Imo State will definitely not fail in Lagos State, Akwa Ibom, and other states. We all witnessed the colorful and historic celebration of International Women’s Day in Akwa Ibom State and saw how smoothly and peacefully it was executed at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
City Boys, I encourage you to learn, adapt, and come back smarter. You have the capability to correct the course. Good luck, and may your next strategy succeed.
