The Akwa Ibom state Commissioner for Transport and Petroleum Resources, Mr Orman Esin and Information Boss, Mr Charles Udoh has debunk the speculated information that the state government has banned the operations of tricycles as mode of transportation in the Uyo capital city.
Addressing the Journalist and Keke operators at the Ministry of Transportation and Petroleum Resources, Ikot Ekpene Rd, Uyo, Mr Esin said there was no truth in the information peddled by mischief makers and propagandist who no longer have an opportunity to oppress the keke riders . He reminded the crowded cheered Keke operators of the earlier gesture the state government did to them this year when the Governor commenced a tax -free scheme for them as part of his efforts to boost the economy of the transport sector in the state. ”
Mr Esin in his statement debunk the falsehood perpetrated by opposition elements that the same government; that not too long ago offered palliatives to Keke operators is contemplating making a volte-face to announce a ban on Keke provides a sad commentary on the malicious intent of opposition in the state.”
Also addressing the Keke operators, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Charles Udoh join his colleague to calls on all well meaning Akwa Ibom people to rise up in one accord and reject a retrogressive opposition that is founded on lies and falsehood, said the State does not need people who attempt to lie their ways to position of authority!
