THE NEW PIONEER MD, MR UMOETTE UMOETTE ADDRESSING THE CORPORATION’S STAFF
The new managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of the Akwa Ibom Newspaper Corporation (AKNC) has assumed duty with a call on the management and staff of the corporation to be committed to their duties by making hard work their watchword to move the corporation to a higher level.
Mr Umoette Umoette who handed down the call during a maiden meeting with the staff at the corporate headquarters of the corporation, Information Drive, Uyo, Thursday, charged them to show understanding, work together as a team and avoid unwholesome practices that would neglect the purpose of the corporation’s existence.
The managing director, who maintained that everybody was a stakeholder, reminded them that they have a role to play in the success of the corporation, assuring that with their understanding and support, he would turn around the corporation for the good of everyone and for the betterment of the society.
Umoette urged them to keep projecting the present administration led by Gov Udom Emmanuel in a good light, appealing to them to be united and work in harmony for success to be achieved.
The former acting general manager and editor-in-chief of the corporation, Mr Marvellous-Friday Udo, described the new managing director as a businessman with a vast experience and a communication expert who has come to assume duties, saying that AKNC was a business conglomerate, a parastatal that generates revenue for itself with a complete press component to make business.
