ESIT EKET YOUTHS RE-AFFIRM SUPPORT TO GOV EMMANUEL; …AS GOVERNOR’S AIDE HOLDS PARLEY IN HIS COMMUNITY

As part of the build up towards 2019 general elections, youths of Ward Two in Edo, Esit Eket local government area of Akwa Ibom State have risen from a meeting to reaffirm their support for the re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The decision of the youths was made known when the Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Mr. Johnson Benjamin Udobia hosted youths of Edo group of villages to rally support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Edo.

Mr. Johnson Udobia while addressing the gathering appreciated the giant strides of the Governor in developing the State despite limited available resources.

Mr Udobia who was accompanied by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media Mr Essien Ndueso, particularly lauded the Governor for the ongoing network of roads linking Edo with Ikot Afaha in Eket local government and other neighbouring communities, the recommencement of the Etebi – Enwang road to re-open the business between Esit Eket and Mbo riverine areas, the 55km super highway that crosses from Ibeno, Eket, Esit Eket to Oron to open up the ongoing Ibom Deep seaport Industrial city, internal road networks within Esit Eket, and the numerous appointments to Esit Eket people in the current administration

He commended the immense contributions of the political leader of Esit Eket, Elder Ben Udobia’s proactive measures to maintain peace and harmonious coexistence among youths in the area.

The Governor’s aide thanked the leadership of Edo youth and appealed for formidable partnership in canvassing support for a return ticket for Mr.Udom Emmanuel come 2019 and charged youths across Edo group of villages and Esit Eket at large to remain committed in promoting Udom Emmanuel led-administration.

He however advised youth against involvement in crime, cultism and other social vices capable of hampering development, adding that Governor Emmanuel’s resolve to weed off criminal elements in the society was definite.

In a goodwill message jointly signed by Elder Friday Udobia; ward two PDP Chairman and Mr. Harrison Edoho; youth president of Edo group of villages, on behalf of the entire youths of Edo lauded the leadership exposition of Udom Emmanuel and their political leader, Elder Udobia stating that youths of the area have no alternative to Governor Udom Emmanuel in the forthcoming elections.

The youth of Edo group of villages reiterated their loyalty to the PDP leadership and the political leader assuring that PDP will emerge victorious in all the six units.

In the entourage of the Special Assistant were Hon. members of Esit Eket Legislative council, led by Hon. Daniel Akpe; councillor representing Ward Nine, Hon. Pastor Macaulay Nyoho; Member, Akwa Ibom State Land Use and Allocation Committee, Youth council representatives and chieftains of the umbrella party (PDP).

The political leader of the area, Elder Udobia; who was on ward tour to ascertain level of compliance by officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the ongoing Permanent voters card (PVC) distribution seized the medium and urged youths to organize themselves in tandem with the law in other to strengthen unity and development of the area.

“As you can see, my son did not come here to declare his intention to aspire for any political office; he came to thank you and to solicit your support for his boss, His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel”.

The elder statesman went on to advocate for a crime free society stating that development can only manifest when the environment, society and the people are in peace and harmony.

Earlier, the deputy leader of Esit Eket legislative council, Hon. Prince Akidmfin Umana; had informed the gathering that the meeting is to reawaken youth consciousness on the need to unite and drive home victory for Udom Emmanuel in the forthcoming elections.

Highpoint of the meeting was the introduction / announcement of a stalwart of the APC Mr. Unwana Evans, who was defecting from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
