AKS INFO BOSS RECEIVES KUDOS FOR THE UDOM IN MY COMMUNITY PHOTO/VIDEO CONTEST INITIATIVE

AKS Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh has been applauded for his initiative in floating the Udom in my Community Photo/Video contest which has heightened awareness creation for the landmark achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel-led government.

The commendation was given by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Pastor Praise Okon, during the raffle draw to harvest winners in the second edition of the Udom in my Community Photo/Video Contest held this afternoon in the Conference room of Ministry of Information and Strategy.
Pastor Praise Okon said, with the initiative, many interested members of the public has moved round to state to visit government project sites to take photos and produce videos for the contest adding that, the process has increased awareness and projected the giant strides of the present administration in various sectors and sections of the state.

Represented by the Dean of Directors and Director in- charge of the Technical Services of the Ministry, Mr. Inyang Jameson, the Permanent Secretary reiterated that, in addition to sensitization of the numerous projects of government, the Udom in my Community Photo/Video contest has contributed to immensely to positive youth engagement and keyed into the Five Point Agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel especially with regards to Job Creation, Wealth Creation and Poverty Alleviation.

He urged other unemployed youths and interested members of the public to join the Udom in my Community Photo/Video Contest to keep themselves gainfully engaged to ward-off vices and idleness and congratulated the winners in the second edition of the Udom in my Community Photo/Video contest advising them to invest their cash prizes wisely for greater dividends.

Earlier, the acting Director of Strategy in the Ministry, Mrs. Grace Akpan, had said, the Udom in my Community Photo/Video contest is one of the initiatives of the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh under the “Udomcares” state-wide sensitization and youth empowerment programmes to publicize government programmes and projects with full citizens’ participation.

She said the weekly contest is fast gaining momentum with entries increasing by day, disclosing that with only 5 entries at the inception, over 30 entries were received for the second edition draw while many others are queuing up for the next edition of the Photo/Video contest.

The Strategy Director who said the contest is still opened urged all interested members of the public to upload 4 photos and one 60secs video of government project site either completed or on-going to Udomcares Citizen Centre on WhatsApp with phone nos 09076173782 or email to citizen@akwaibomstate.gov.ng or www.akwaibomstate.gov.ng/udom-in-my-community between the hours of 9am – 4pm daily, while entries close every week on Friday by 12 midnight.

The second edition which was watched by the Director of Administration in the Ministry, Mrs. Tiuba Nduonofit and Director in-charge of Eket Zone of the Ministry, Mrs. Blessing Urua among others, featured slide show presentation of the entries by the participants, raffle draw by Corps members in the members and Star Prize pick by the representative of the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Inyang Jameson.

Happiness Ekerendu Uduak, a female undergraduate student of the University of Uyo, emerged Star Prize Winner of N20,000 for her Photos/video entry on the Sports Centre at West Itam Secondary School, Itam, one of sports facilities constructed by Governor Udom Emmanuel across the state to boost sports among youths in the state.

Other top 9 entries also emerged for N2000 worth of Re-charge cards.
