AKS INFO BOSS, CHARLES UDOH BAGS IIM FELLOWSHIP AWARD

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoh has today added another feather to his crown with the investiture of Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Information Management.

The Investiture ceremony which held in Roshmor Hotel Uyo had as its theme “Boosting Economic Activities and Operations Through Access to Quality Information” and sub theme   “Information Management as a Tool for Promoting and Preserving Cultural Heritage”

The Commissioner who made a Keynote Presentation on the theme “Boosting Economic Activities and Operations Through Access to Quality Information identified good economic policy as a fundamental principle in achieving a developed and prosperous society.

Mr. Charles Udoh said Akwa Ibom State policy on economic development is anchored on private sector driven economy which centres on industrialization triggering the expansion of the state’s domestic production capacity,   improves efficient production of goods and services thereby creating employment opportunities and wealth creation  for the citizens.

The Commissioner lauded the efforts of Governor Udom Emmanuel in providing an enabling environment for private sector investment to thrive in the state. This, he added has boosted the economy.

To improve and stimulate economic activities and Operations, the Commissioner noted that Communication and accurate  Information Management is significant. He called for more proactive measures from Information Personnel to checkmate and curb infiltration and quackery.

The Commissioner thanked the Institute for hosting the 2018 investiture in Akwa Ibom State and expressed gratitude for the prestigious award on him.

Ambassador Dr. Oyedokun A. Oyewole  who is the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Institute in a welcome address said the award on the recipients is based on merit and unique performance recorded by the awardees.

He said the vision of the Institute is to drive the development of competent professionals for the ultimate recognition of Information Management as a professional field in various organizations globally.

The Induction Ceremony which is the Institute ‘s 13th investiture featured a goodwill message from the Former National Speaker of the Gambian National Assembly, Hon. Dr. Fatoumata Jahumpa  Ceesay, Lecture on the sub theme by HRM(Sir) King Samuel L. A. Need Jp Amber P. Gbenemene Tua Tua Tai, a Royal Father in River State as well as Induction of Professional Fellows and Corporate Members.
