The Old Students’ Association of Lutheran High School, Obot Idim Ibesikpo, class of 86 reunited in the school premises at Lutheran High School Obot idim, Ibesikpo Asutan local government area, for a scheduled visit to the institution.
Addressing the students at the school chapel auditorium , the chairman, class of 1986, and the Chairman, Memories 96.5FM, Deacon Ubong Andrew Essien, advised the students to be focused in their studies and possess a mindset of success to be able to achieve greater feats.
Also speaking, the Vice Chancellor Ritman University, and former senior prefect of the school, Prof. Akan Williams, during his keynote address gave the students the 4Ds-(Determination, Dedication, Diligence and Discipline) to success.
In her remark, the CEO, of Sweden Hotel and Suites and the former Senior Prefect for girls, Mrs Linda Hanson, encouraged the students to be dedicated and committed to their career, while the Dean of Social sciences, University of Uyo, Prof. Aniekan Brown intimated the students of the FLY philosophy to help them succeed in their respective careers.
Meanwhile the principal of the school, Rev Monday Jacob, while commending the old students for remembering their Alma mata, urged the present students to emulate the old ones. Others present at the event include a few Mr Akaninyene Ukpong of AKBC, Mr. Moses Udoekong, a director with AKADEP, Mr. Christopher Ekong, Mrs Affiong
The school prefects, on behalf of the students, appreciated the old students for the efforts and time sacrificed to make to visit the school, interact with students and the donations made.
Highlights of the event include, tour and inspection of the school facilities and proposed monetary donations for best graduating students in Arts, Science, Mathematics, English and Chemistry and Government, among others.
