…No Okada rider was killed in Eket,promise to fetch out miscreants & criminals.
A group of okada riders operating in Eket by name,GENUINE OKADA RIDERS yesterday rise in support of government’s decision to partially ban okada from 6PM – 6AM.
The group condemn in totality the activities of miscreants & criminals who in recent times have invaded their noble profession.
Speaking with newsmen,Comrade Ernest Akpan,spokeman of the group, condemned the act of burning of police patrol vehicle & road blocked along James Town road as barbaric & the total disobedience to government laws & orders.
He went further to advice all genuine Okada operators to go about their normal business which commences from 6PM – 6AM.
Comrade Akpan also narrated that no okada rider was killed in Eket,viewing the story as rumour that is spread by criminals & miscreants which their means of survival had been barricade through the partial ban on bikes from 6PM – 6AM
Comrade Akpan further solicit for the release of mini – buses to some of their members,who will make good use of the buses to improve their standard of living.
He also thank the council boss,Hon.Frank Archibong for his promise to provide 50 mini buses to improve the transport sector in Eket LGA.
