Akwa United Football Club of Uyo have concluded plans to demolish Wikki Tourist of Bauchi when the two teams meet in a rescheduled NPFL week 23 fixture.

The match billed for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (Nest of Champions), Uyo, Akwa Ibom State by 4.00pm promises to be a cracker as the home side wishes to make up for their last away (0-1) loss to Rangers International FC of Enugu.

The 11th placed Promise Keepers, who prior to the loss at the Coal City, had been unbeaten in six (6) matches will enjoy the return to the squad of their leading scorer, Alhassan Ibrahim who missed the Enugu clash because of National Team involvement. According to the Technical Adviser of the home side,Coach Abdul Maikaba, “Wikki Tourist FC is a team I have known like the palm of my hand, having worked with the team. Such knowledge is essential in the plans to demolish them with the quality of players I have with Akwa United.”

The visiting side from Bauchi  State, are placed 15th on the NPFL table having won 9 matches, drawn 3, and lost 11 from the 23 matches, so far played. This is a far cry from the 11th placed FA Cup defending Champions who have won 9matches,drawn 6 and lost 7 from 22 matches.

As the count down to the kick off, reduces to few hours, one can only be expectant of an exciting encounter as the free flowing playing style of Maikaba-tutored Akwa United may be matched by the remnants of the same style the Kano-born tactician left behind at Wikki Tourist. Fans will be expecting to enjoy good and entertaining football and a positive result for the home side as the faith in the team deepens.

Surely, 90minutes will determine materialization of the demolition plot.
