2019:
AKWA IBOM FOR SALE!
-Nsima plans to mortgage Akwa Ibom
-Promises Tinubu, Amaechi 25% of monthly allocation, if…

A group of Youth in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, under the auspices of Edemeya Supreme Leaders’ Coalition (ESLC) has urged their kinsman and Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Nsima Ekere, to shelve his purported governorship ambition in 2019.

This view was contained in a statement issued, Tuesday, by the Director of Publicity and Strategy of the group, Akparawa Abraham Okon, describing the ambition of the NDDC boss as egocentric, misplaced priority as well as an attempt to plunge the state into worse economic situation.

The statement reads in part, “We have observed that Mr Nsima Ekere has been holding clandestine meetings with people for his purported ambition to become governor in 2019.

“We would like to put it on record that, Nsima Ekere is our son and brother. It is however pathetic that our brother has abandoned his hometown. He adds no value to the development of Edemeya clan or Ikot Abasi where he hails.

“From his days at AKIIPOC to the time he was the Deputy Governor, our brother was unable to attract a single development to Ikot Abasi, not even the road that leads to his village was graded… If he could not grade the least thing like road, could not empower a single youth, woman or elder in his area, is it now that he will do it?

“We have become so worried when the mass media revealed how he went to the extent of lobbying an influential political leader in Lagos State and another one in Rivers State with a view to reward the duo with 25% of Akwa Ibom allocation monthly if he gets the APC ticket at the expense of some known gladiators and wins the general election.

“We are perplex and wish to use this medium to announce to every Akwa Ibomite across party line to rise up and stop the looming mortgage of the State to a yoruba and ogoni man, if our brother Mr Ekere has his way to Hilltop Mansion”, the statement reads in part.

Meanwhile Akparawa Abraham Okon has observed that, although Nsima Ekere had the constitutional and legitimate rights to contest any election, the NDDC boss would not be a credible candidate against the ruling party in the State, if APC was serious about winning at the governorship poll.
