2023: Uyo Ward 7&8 Pledge Loyalty to Governor Emmanuel’s Succession Plan

On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, indigenes of the new Ward 7 and 8 in Uyo Local Government Area pledged their loyalty to the completion agenda of Governor Emmanuel as well as his succession plan.

They said this during the inauguration of the Ward Steering Committee of the Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) in Uyo.

Addressing the Committee, the International Secretary General a Uyo Local Government Coordinator of the MPM, Otuekong Prince Enobong Uwah charged the people to stay focus and show maximum support for the Governor’s completion agenda.

He urged them to avoid the temptation of being tossed by people who have no interest over their wellbeing and emphasized the need for those without a voters card to get theirs, taking advantage of the ongoing electronic voter’s registration.

Justifying the Ward inauguration, Otuekong Uwah noted that it is a form of grassroot mobilization to strengthen the voice of the electorates.

“It is from the Ward we get to the top”, he said, while calling on them to spread the message of the Governor’s sterling legacies.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Environment, Sir Charles Udoh emphasized on the achievements of the Governor especially in adding people of the area to the mainstream of leadership.

He observed that it was an evidence of the Governor’s love for the people of Uyo and charged them to reciprocate the Governor’s love by supporting his completion agenda and succession plan.

Stakeholders who spoke also acknowledged Governor Emmanuel’s benevolence and expressed satisfaction over the developmental strides of the State Chief Executive.

Comrade Paulinus Udoh, one of the Ward coordinators gave an acceptance speech on behalf of the Ward appointees.
